How to cook perfect Rice

When it comes to cooking rice, people often panic. But there is no need, it’s actually quite simple, so long as you ridgedly stick to the rule. This way you will get perfect rice every time!


For every cup of rice you need

1 3/4 cups of boiling water


How to do it

Many people try to cook rice by stirring a lot, boiling too much, looking at the rice with the lid removed.


The best rice is cooked very simple.


3 cups of rice will feed 4 – 6 people


Place the rice in a pan and mix in 1 level teaspoon salt


Boil a kettle and carefully add 1 3/4 cups of boiling water per cup of rice used


Loosen the grains with a fork, not taking more than 10 seconds to do this – it you keep stirring you will knock the starch from the grains and get sticky rice


Bring the water to the boil again, and then turn the heat down to its lowest setting


Simmer with a tight fitting lid on the pan for 17 minutes


After 17 minutes take off the heat, leave the lid on (No peeping!) and leave to continue steaming for 3 minutes


Loosen the rice with a fork and then serve
